Epic 5100 Refraction System
Renders the Traditional Exam Lane Obsolete
Imagine your life just got easier. Vision diagnostic results are faster, yet more accurate than ever. Patient throughput has increased by 30-50% and patient satisfaction has never been higher. And, you have more time to spend as you like, for personal leisure or patient care.
Meanwhile, your staff is more efficient and profits keep increasing. This is the EPIC refraction system at work. It’s today’s most innovative way to streamline operations, grow your business and build your dream practice.
The EPIC decreases work-up times to less than 10 minutes and performs the refractions in 3-5 minutes. Now you can confidently delegate data gathering to your technicians and focus on data assessment, diagnosis and prescribing a final correction.
Brought to you by Marco, the Leader In Vision Diagnostics®, the EPIC is efficiency on-sight. From office productivity to patient care to the exam room to the bottom line,
OPD Scan III
Refractive Power/Corneal Analyzer
Marco gives you an instrument that can evaluate the patient’s total optical system. The technology allows for extreme accuracy and anchors the “30 Second Refraction.” The 3-D Wave combines multiple advanced technologies – plus wavefront analysis – in one easy-to-use refractive diagnostic workstation.
Now, with a single device, you can obtain refraction, corneal topography, low and high order aberrations, lenticular analysis, pupilometry and wavefront analysis!
The 3-D Wave allows you to evaluate your patient comprehensively, perform refractive and cataract surgery screenings (including multifocal, accommodative and wavefront IOL’s), evaluate postoperative complaints, determine pathology diagnoses and diagnose patient complaints which would not have been diagnosed before!
TRS 5100 / TRS 3100
Electronic Refraction Technology
Marco’s latest generation of electronic refraction technology, the TRS 5100 and TRS 3100 replace the standard refractor, allowing practitioners to control the entire refraction process from a keypad or remote control small enough to sit in their lap.
Obtain an immediate comparison between a patient’s unaided vision, old prescription and the patient’s new prescription — with a simple touch of a button!
The Marco M3
Three Instruments In One
Marco proudly introduces the newly redesigned M3. The new M3 offers the same space and time saving features as well as the dependability of the original M3, because it is 3 instruments in one, the only one of its kind.
The newly redesigned M3 presents several enhanced features such as a smaller footprint, to save even more space, and a new exterior design, but most importantly, the M3 now uses SLD (Super Luminescent Diode) and a highly sensitive CCD device to provide Zonal Ring-Image Technology. This makes it possible to now accurately measure patients with cataracts, corneal opacities, IOLs, and post LASIK.

ARK 1s
Autorefractor/Autokeratometer
Marco and Nidek are proud and excited to announce the newest autorefractor/autokeratometer available. The ARK-1s measures objective spherical, cylindrical refractive errors and cylinder axis from the refractive status of the patient’s eye. In addition, this is the first ARK that combines the capability of glare testing with, low contrast testing, accommodation, retro-illumination, visual acuity chart presentation and the ability to subjectively refine the sphere.
The glare testing capability makes it easier to test patients with cataracts. Traditional methods can be cumbersome and time consuming with questionable accuracy. With Medicare cuts prevailing, it is important to have a consistent measurement to help accurately qualify patients for cataract surgery. For doctors who also use low contrast testing for their patients, the ARK-1s has the capability. The accommodative measurement helps doctors to detect problems in pre-presbyopia, latent hyperopes, and children that have trouble reading. The retro-illumination modality helps to educate patients, with an actual image of their cataract progression.
This all-in-one compact design has Nidek/Marco’s famous auto alignment EyeTracking System on the X-Y-Z axis for consistent, accurate readings.
HandyRef System
Handheld Refractometer Keratometer
The HandyRef-K / HandyRef is a Handheld Ref / Keratometer Handheld Refractometer that is the portable solution for accurate refraction and keratometry measurements anytime and anywhere.
The HandyRef-K / HandyRef is lightweight and also has excellent weight distribution. Its compact design makes it easy to hold, balance, and use. Intelligently designed button layout is also useful in one-handed operation. New full graphic 3.5-inch color LCD is 40% larger than the previous model. Clear screen design and intuitive icons provide high user-friendliness. The measurement data of 50 patients (100 eyes) can be saved in the main body memory. For inexperienced patients like children, newly added melody function can ease patient’s anxiety and draw attention. Data can be transferred quickly and easily to PC. Two types of fixation target (scenery or children’s) are available. By using the portable stand, the HandyRef-K / HandyRef can be used as a desktop device.
The HandyRef-K / HandyRef adopted an excellent new measurement method; “SynchroScan Technology”. Measurements start when the alignment starts, and locks in the data when alignment becomes optimal as a measurement value. Accuracy is further enhanced with the pupil zone imaging method, a super luminescent diode (SLD) and highly sensitive CCD. The features of the HandyRef-K / HandyRef allow easy, accurate measurements while maintaining efficiency
